A terma (revealed) practice from the Nyingma tradition which later spread throughout the major lineages.  There are 21 forms of Tara, each displaying an aspect of protection. She is an expression of Prajnaparamita, the Great Mother Dharmakaya, who in her green aspect, liberates all fear and obstacles to Awakening.
